Our God is a righteous judge

Isaiah 32:22 For the Lord is our judge, our lawgiver and our king. He will care for us and save us.

In this world where we live in today, we see a lot of people doing things that we know are not pleasing to the eyes of God. Yet we often wonder why in the world do they still seem to be victorious in what they do. We see a lot of people committing sins and we get angry at them because we feel they are escaping the consequences of their bad actions.

Do not be confused. God’s ways of judgment are sometimes puzzling but not unjust.

Romans 2:16 This will take place on the day when God judges all people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

One day, we will all face the judgment seat of God and we will be accountable for all the things we have done in our lives. The righteous servants will be with Him in heaven while the others will have eternal suffering in hell.

Romans 14:10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of Chris.

God certainly knows everything. So when you think that you can bribe Him or you escape Him, you have to think twice.

So now when you feel upset or hurt when someone did something wrong to you, just remember that God sees everything. Our time and effort should not be dedicated in building wrath against our neighbors. Hence we should allow these things to pass and just leave it to God’s care. It is not our department to mind and punish the sinners – it is God’s.

Our job is to warn those people who continue their evil ways that God wants them to repent. And when we’ve done our part already and they still don’t seem to care, we should rest our hearts in the Lord and know that He is in control of everything.

Ezekiel 33:7-11 Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel, so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. When I say to the wicked, you will surely die, and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. But if you do warn the wicked person from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved. Son of man, say to the Israelites, This is what you are saying: “our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are hasting away because of them. How then can we live?” Say to them, “As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways. Why will you die, people of Israel?”
